Seven Years Ago…

Seven years ago, I made a life-changing decision: I quit my job, sold my condo, car, and keeping only what could fit in two bags. My initial plan was to embark on a one-year journey and potentially teach English abroad. Little did I know that this adventure would extend for 63 months. Eventually, I found a new home where I recently completed the third draft of a travel memoir documenting the first 18 months of my extraordinary expedition.

The initial installment of my travel memoir series vividly captures my experiences across Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, and North America. Throughout my journey, I encountered a diverse cast of characters, including a helpful Cuban Santeria, a gifted psychic in Seattle, an enlightening energy healer, a wise shaman, profound visions that guided me, and even the mysterious voice of ‘Cactus Tito’.

My adventures have taken me to wild places, including sleeping atop an active volcano in Ethiopia, being falsely accused of being a spy by a government handler in North Korea, embarking on exhilarating night hikes through creeks teeming with caiman in the Amazon Jungle, and going on walking safaris alongside a bloat of 50 hippos—the most dangerous land mammal on the planet.

My writing encompasses a wide range of dining experiences, from savoring exquisite meals at some of the world’s top-rated restaurants to exploring hidden gems in dimly lit basements. I recount moments where rats scurried by my feet, as well as meals I prepared for myself. In addition, I ventured into internationally renowned food markets and delved into the world of farming, immersing myself in the culinary arena. The chronicles of my adventurous appetite are meticulously documented in my memoir.

And, of course, my journey was not without its fair share of mischief, which I have extensively documented in my book.
